Looking for a way to get involved? Are your kids shooting free throws or playing in the 3-on-3 Tournament and you want to help? Maybe you’re shooting free throws in the morning and need something to do in the afternoon before the concert? We’ve got a fun and fulfilling solution for you. Volunteers are needed to assist with every aspect of the event, including set-up, pre-registration, Court Monitors, Parking Attendants and more. The following volunteer opportunities are available at each city event. Please read through each opportunity and decide which role you would like to serve in. Contact us with any questions you have. Thanks for volunteering at Hoops of Hope All-Stars.

Every volunteer will receive:
Official Hoops of Hope All-Stars Event T-shirt
   Hoops of Hope All-Stars Bag
   Food/Drink Vouchers

1. Free Throw Monitor / Counter
It’s all about the numbers. Each Hoops of Hope All-Stars Participant will shoot 500 free throws for charity. Money is raised on the amount of free throws shot, not on how many were made. Your job is to use the provided counters to track each participant’s free throws. Typically each hoop will have four participants in each timeslot. You will want to rotate them in blocks of 50 free throws over the two-hour period until they get to the 500 free throws. Remember, every free throw shot represents a child in Africa with AIDS.

2. Free Throw Rebounder
The free throw assistant is needed to rebound and keep the pace of the shooters moving. You will work with each of the participants in your group to rebound for the current shooter and get the ball back to them quickly. Due to limited time slots, timing is essential in ensuring that each participant can get 500 free throws in the two-hour time slot. Remember, every free throw shot represents a child in Africa with AIDS.

3. Registration Booth
Volunteers are needed on Friday night and throughout the day on Saturday to assist with the registration booth. You must be proficient with computer skills and enjoy meeting and interacting with people. You will be the first impression of this event so a friendly smile is always welcome. Please visit the appropriate city to register and for information on times and location.

4. First Aid Booth
Do you have first aid experience? Are you a caring and comforting person? Then the first aid booth is for you. There will be multiple first aid booths on each location and volunteers will be needed to assist the local EMS staff for issues ranging from dehydration to simple headaches. You will be the first line of defense for player injuries should they occur as well as treating minor scrapes and bruises throughout the day. Please visit the appropriate city to register and for information on times and location.

5. Hospitality Booth
Hoops of Hope All Stars wants our participants and attendees to walk away from this event with a positive experience that was welcoming and attentive to their needs throughout the day. Helping others starts in our own communities and extends throughout the globe. As a volunteer in the hospitality booth, you will assist participants in anything they need to know such as court location, food and beverage options, special events throughout the day, as well as locating other members of their party. As a hospitality volunteer you will work in six hour shifts and either help with setup or tear down depending on which shift your choose. Please visit the appropriate city to register and for information on times and location.
