1. Who Can Play?

Anyone can shoot free throws. We do request that shooters under the age of 13 are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants under the age of 18 must have parental consent to register.

2. Timeslots

Each participant will shoot free throws in groups of 4. When you register, you will be able to select a 2-hour timeslot and the All-Stars staff will do our best to accommodate your request. Please arrive and sign-in at least 30 minutes prior to your chosen timeslot. For example, if you are shooting free throws at 10am then you must be on-site and checked in by 9:30am. You will be notified of your final timeslot at least 48 hours prior to the event.

3. Numbers of Players

Each Hoops of Hope All-Star court will consist of 4 shooters per 2-hour timeslot. If you are signing up with 3 other friends, please coordinate your timeslot so that you select the same timeslot for the event. Our staff will do our best to accommodate your requests so that you can shoot with your friends and family.

4. Numbers of Shots

Each Hoops of Hope All-Star Free Throw Shooter can shoot a maximum of 500 free throws. Shoot free throws at a respectable pace. It is not about how many you make but rather how many you shoot. There will be three other members in your group that need to shoot free throws in the two-hour time slot. Remember, every free throw shot represents an AIDS orphan in Africa.

5. Hoops of Hope All-Stars Court

Shoot free throws only at your assigned basket and do not interfere with other teams. Failure to respect this boundary will result in disqualification.

6. No Dunking

Do not use empty goals for dunk contests or impromptu pick-up games. Failure to respect this boundary will result in disqualification.

7. Hoops of Hope All-Stars is a tobacco, alcohol, drug and firearms free event.

No Tobacco, alcohol, drugs, and/or firearms (or any other kind of weapon) are allowed on the premises. Any violators will be immediately removed from the premises and prosecuted if necessary.

8. Good Sportsmanship

The Hoops of Hope All-Stars Festival is designed to benefit both the local and global community in raising funds for AIDS orphans. Please conduct yourself in a manner that is consistent with good sportsmanship. For those affected by AIDS it matters less about who wins but rather who’s willing to participate for their sake.

9. Rough play

Hoops of Hope All-Stars places a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and the elimination of rough play, and seeks your help and cooperation. Court monitors will help enforce fair play but we ask that in the spirit of All-Stars, please allow every shooter a fair and safe chance to participate. If foul language and/or aggressive play are displayed, the court monitor will take appropriate action which could result in removing the participant from the court and or Festival.

10. ADA compliant

Hoops of Hope All-Stars courts are ADA compliant and offer options for those participants that are challenged with disabilities. Please note this in your registration and we will do everything reasonably possible to accommodate your special needs.
